When the set arrived I saw that it had a "D" indicating a VA panel but set it up anyway. After adjusting the settings to my liking I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the picture. I then checked to see if I had color washout at an angle, none that I could notice. When I looked at the screen with a magnifying glass the pixels appear to be angled, not straight. I wonder if I have a IPS panel even though I have a "D" not a "W" in the number. I am very happy with this set.

I did some research before purchasing this TV. It is listed as a VA panel and priced accordingly. It's not a bad price for a VA panel. I was planning on using it as a computer screen and only looking at it from a perpendicular position; however, I have no color fade at any angle. I probably have an IPS panel. Bonus! This makes the TV a great value.

Don't listen to what some idiots are saying about the IPS and VA panels. I knew mine was going to be VA panels when I ordered it and it is simply amazing. Compared to my 16 inch RCA made in 1999 this TV is perfect. The sound quality is a little rough if you have it connected to an internet ready device that can access Pandora but it does fine for watching dvds and blu-rays. This is by far the best deal I could possibly find from everywhere I looked and I'm 100 percent satisfied with it!
